Quran Teachings

The Quran is full of knowledge. There is so much knowledge in Quran teachings that one is continuously amazed when one reads it. Chapter after chapter of the Quran puts forth unbounded knowledge for man to ponder upon – knowledge which is timeless, factual, and scientifically accurate. This is so because the Quran is the Speech of Allâh in the Arabic language. Thus this knowledge is extraordinarily vivid and profound because of its divine origin.

Indeed, so powerful and profound are Quran teachings, that many Muslims, including reverts, who seek knowledge and guidance from the Quran with a sincere heart, will readily concede that there are times when they get goose bumps while reading the Quran. The divine words of the Quran speak directly to one’s heart and the sensitive reader realizes that:

And had there been a Quran with which mountains could be moved (from their places), or the earth could be cloven asunder, or the dead could be made to speak (it would not have been other than this Quran). But the decision of all things is certainly with Allâh. (Surah Al-Raad (The Thunder): 13, Ayah: 31)

There are scientific facts mentioned in the Quran the mere concept of which had come about several centuries after the Quran had been revealed. From the workings of the galaxies and the universe, to the various stages embryonic development, Quran teachings mention amazing scientific facts the knowledge of which was impossible for an unlearnt person such as the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allâh be upon him, to have acquired in those times. These facts were corroborated several centuries later after the invention of modern scientific equipment.

Yet, scientific facts alone are not the primary items which have an effect on the reader of the Quran, it is the way in which the Quran speaks directly to a person’s heart. It speaks to a person in the same language in which a person’s own heart speaks to that person and, therefore, one cannot deny the truth of the words. But the Quran only speaks to those whose hearts have not been sealed shut:

In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie. (Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow): 02, Ayah: 10)

But those in whose hearts is the spark of life; those are the ones who weep and cry when they read the words of Allâh Almighty, and these are the ones who are truly guided.
