Learn Quran
Allaah, Subhan’a’Hu’wa’Ta’Aalah, has commanded, “Learn and teach The Quran” and our beloved Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, did exactly that. It is obligatory on all Muslims, whether they are men or women, to learn Quran, recite Quran, and memorize the Quran. However, the world has changed and with the time constraints of modern communities we are living in, it is not very easy to find the time to read and recite the Quran, nor are qualified Quran teachers as readily available. Moreover, politically and economically motivated Islamophobia is another factor which causes hindrances in the way of those who seek Islamic knowledge.
There is an Ayah of the Quran which declares that those who learn the Quran themselves and teach the Quran to others are the ones which follow the commands of Allaah and His Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. We must always be aware whether we are following this commandment of Almighty Allaah. Indeed, there are a number of Muslims who have been very conscious of their duty in this respect and have helped their kids, their families, their friends, and their colleagues – whether they reside in Islamic or foreign countries – to acquire Islamic knowledge and strive to become better Muslims as commanded by Allaah and His Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
